Rick Sammon – Exploring Digital Photography
Thursday, June 25th, 2009Quotes by Rick Sammon:
Basic Guidelines for Fill-in Flash
1. Set your camera on manual, set the exposure for the scene manually
2. Turn on your flash
3. Begin by setting flash exposure compensation to 1 2/3
4. If the subject is too dar, increase the exposure too light, decrease the exposure.
The idea: Fill in the Shadows – don’t blast subject with light!
“I always choose the lowest possible ISO setting for the cleanest possible picture”
“Trying to tell the whole story”

HDR (High Dynamic Range)
1. Put your camera on a tripod.
2. Leave the F-stop the same.
3. Change the shutter speed and take exposures of all the different brightness level in the scene.
